We had a great first day and I enjoyed spending time with the kids. There are a few papers coming home tonight that need to be signed and returned. Please sign and return the following: Clinic card, Receipt of Handbook form, and Performance Permission. The Performance form has the option to donate towards in-school field trips. The donation is optional, however, you must sign the permission form to attend in-school performances. As I have told students, I must have all 3 forms signed and returned in order for them to be issued a locker, which should happen next week. There are also forms for birthday celebrations, yearbook purchase, and reduced lunch. The reduced lunch application is now available online. If you need assistance, please let me know and I will get you in contact with the right person.
The rest of the week: I will be sending home a syllabus and lab safety contract for you to review tomorrow (Tuesday). We will go over both tomorrow and highlight important features. Please sign and return them at your earliest convenience. We will be also learning about scientific method and solidifying the expectations of a science classroom. Your students will be investigating their learning modalities and graphing the results. Ask them how they learn? It's always a neat thing to find out. If you have not purchased the (at least) 100 page spiral notebook or composition notebook with graph paper, please do so as soon as possible. The work we are doing now will need to be placed in the notebook by Thursday. Looking forward to an amazing year! Mrs. NeSmith

Welcome to the most amazing year of science yet. We are going to have a fantastic time learning about the world around us. I'm sure you have questions so let me see if I can answer a few.
What do you need the first day of school? YOU... and something to write with and on. Don't overthink it. Just come ready to learn! You will need the following supplies: 1 - 100 page notebook (you can also use a 2 - 3 subject notebook as well) 1 - Composition notebook with graphing paper (this will be your lab notebook) 8 - 2 pocket folders (with or without prongs, one for all of our units) 1 - colored pencils 1- liquid glue 1 - scissors (You may choose to keep your own supplies with you or I can keep them in the classroom.) Hand sanitizer, tissues, and wet-wipes are ALWAYS appreciated. |
